Andhra Pradesh IT and Human Resources Minister Nara Lokesh used Monday’s Indian Express Express Adda platform in New Delhi to make a forceful case for the state as India’s next major technology and investment hub.
Speaking at the high-profile media event, Lokesh cited speed of implementation, administrative stability and citizen service delivery as the three pillars distinguishing Andhra Pradesh from competing states in the race to attract global and domestic capital.
“We are not just pitching infrastructure — we are offering reliability,” Lokesh told the gathering. “Investors want to know that approvals will not stall, that talent will be available, and that government will be a partner rather than an obstacle.”
The minister highlighted the Bhavanam affordable housing scheme, the Sunrise AP 2.0 investment framework, and the IT corridor being developed along the Vizag–Amaravati economic belt as flagship attractions for technology companies and manufacturing investors.
Lokesh also pointed to the state’s track record in implementing welfare initiatives at scale and digital governance benchmarks as evidence of systemic readiness to absorb large-scale investment.
Andhra Pradesh is competing aggressively with Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka — the country’s established tech magnets — by emphasising lower operating costs, a growing pool of engineering graduates from Vizag and Tirupati, and direct sea and air connectivity.
The Express Adda session drew significant industry attention, with Lokesh fielding questions on land acquisition timelines, data centre policy, and the state’s semiconductor ambitions under India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme.
The minister’s appearance comes as the state government prepares to host an investors’ summit later this year, following a series of bilateral meetings with Japanese, South Korean and American technology firms.
